The Wax Museum was founded in 1958 by Fernando Canini who, alter visiting the wax museums in London and Paris decided to donate a similar show that would put the Italian capital in line with the European capitals over the Alps.

The collection is the first in Italy and third in importance for Europe and number of people represented.
Among the scans and the characters there is famous Napoleon Bonaparte was crowned emperor in Notre Dame, the literary world will recognize the waxes and Oscar Wilde Giacomo Leopardi, and of international politics Stalin, Winston Churchill, Roosevelt, and Mao Tse Tung.

Among artists and musicians are Strauss, Toscanini, Verdi, Wagner, Puccini and Leonardo da Vinci, Goya and Picasso.
